SINDH CULTURE DAY CELEBRATED ACROSS SINDH: ALL POLITICAL PARTIES,ORGANIZATIONS JOIN HANDS

HYDERABAD, December 13, 2015: Sindh cultural day was celebrated throughout the province with national zeal and enthusiasm. Day started with rallies in all towns and cities of Sindh. Big rallies were taken out in Malir and other parts of Karachi which converged in front of Karachi and Malir press clubs. In Hyderabad, Badin, Khairpur, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta and other cities rallies of various parties and media groups continued to march on main roads where sea of people with Sindhi cap and Ajrak everywhere was seen with beat of trumps and tune of trumpets all around.In Hyderabad a big rally was taken out by Sindh TV which after reaching at press club it turned into big public meeting. Almost all political parties including PPP and nationalist parties rallies joined this rally at press club. KTN/Kawish held function at Sindh Museum where thousands of people from Qasimabad and other Sindhi localities of Hyderabad and Latifabad thronged. The days started to be celebrated since 2009 when an anchor person of so called Urdu TV channel has cast sarcastic words against   president Asif Ali Zardari who had proceeded to visit of Afghanistan with Sindhi topi on his head. Sindhis were bruised with his remarks against Sindhi Topi and felt insult and as a backlash to his remarks against Sindhi culture, in same year celebrated Sindh Topi and Ajrak ( culture) day which has now become yearly feature. Its call is given by Sindhi media which is returned by whole Sindhi nation. The day is celebrated in December to show the world  that Sindh was rich of its culture, civilization, language and traditions since thousands of years. Major hallmarks of cities and towns of Sindh were decorated with Sindhi Ajrak and topi to show the cultural values of Sindh. Musicians sung traditional Sindhi songs depicting love and progress of Sindh. It was first time that Sindhi women had come out of homes to take part in celebrations alongwith their children and seen marching on roads with men making oceans of heads everywhere. In Hyderabad Rani Bagh, Sindh Museum, Mehran Arts Council and press club all surrounding roads were jampacked and traffic blocked both sides or plied slowly due to Sindhis processions and caravans. At Gul Center a big procession of Jeay Sindh came aross that of PPP exchanging slogans of Jeay Bhutto and No Khape Pakistan ( don’t need Pakistan slogan ofJeay Sindh.A

All Political, social and religious organisations of Sindh, besides the Sindh culture department and administrations of various schools, colleges and universities, organized variety of events including seminars, debates, folk music programmes, drama and theatrics performances, tableau and literary sittings to mark this annual festivity. Sindhi culture, history and heritage are highlighted at the events.Theme of this years festivity was Ekta (unity)day  “Thumping and Thinking with Sindh” and celebrated equally by men, women and children who all joined the rallies and events.
